FreightBridge Privacy Policy
Version 3.0. Effective 3 September 2026. Replaces Version 2.0 of 29 March 2026. FreightBridge Pty Ltd, ACN 701 627 296, ABN 52 701 627 296, a company registered in New South Wales ("FreightBridge", "we", "us"). Website: freightbridge.com.au.
1. About this policy
FreightBridge operates an online freight marketplace that connects Shippers with independent Carriers. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the FreightBridge website, mobile app and support channels (the "Platform"), why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy forms part of the FreightBridge Marketplace Terms and Conditions.
2. What we collect
What we collect depends on how you use the Platform.
Everyone with an account: name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), business name and ABN, role (Shipper or Carrier), postal or business address, the date you accepted our Terms and Privacy Policy, and your notification and marketing preferences. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier.
Shippers: the details of each Load you post (pickup and delivery addresses, contact names and numbers at those addresses, description, dimensions, weight and photographs of the goods, dates and instructions), your quotes received and accepted, messages with Carriers, cancellation requests, disputes and reviews.
Carriers: in addition to the above, a government photo ID (driver licence or passport) that our staff review to verify your identity; insurance certificates and vehicle and fleet details you choose to upload; your Quotes, jobs, status updates and Proof of Delivery (photographs, notes, and the location and time recorded by the app at delivery); your earnings and payout records.
Payments: card or bank details are entered directly into forms provided by our payment provider, Stripe. FreightBridge does not receive or store full card numbers or bank account numbers. We receive a payment token, the payment method type, the last four digits, and the payment outcome. Carriers complete identity and bank verification with Stripe during payout onboarding; Stripe shares the verification outcome with us, not the underlying documents.
Support: messages you send to support@freightbridge.com.au, and transcripts of conversations with the FreightBridge Assistant, our automated support chat. Signed-in users who chat may also have their own load, payment and verification information looked up to answer their question.
Technical: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, pages viewed, timestamps, error reports, and the cookies and local storage described in section 8.
We do not collect biometric data, and we do not track your location except when a Carrier captures Proof of Delivery in the app.
3. How we collect it
Directly from you when you register, post, quote, message, upload documents or contact support; automatically from your device and browser as you use the Platform; from Stripe (payment and verification outcomes); from Google if you use Google sign-in; from the Australian Business Register when we verify an ABN; and from other Users where they enter your details as a pickup or delivery contact.
4. Why we use it
- To provide the Platform: create and manage accounts, match Loads with Carriers, show Quotes, form Bookings, and enable messaging and tracking.
- To verify identity and business details before a Carrier can quote or be paid, and to prevent fraud.
- To process payments, hold and release funds, make payouts, issue tax invoices and keep financial records.
- To handle cancellations, disputes, claims and chargebacks, including sharing relevant Booking records with the other party to a dispute.
- To provide customer support, including through the automated assistant.
- To send service messages (booking, payment, delivery, dispute and security notices). These cannot be switched off while you hold an account.
- To send marketing emails only where you have opted in; every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the Platform secure, monitor for misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the Platform using aggregated or de-identified usage information.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information to train artificial intelligence models.
5. Who we share it with
Other Users, to perform a Booking. Before a Booking, Carriers see the pickup and delivery suburb and the freight details of a Load, not the Shipper's name or contact details. Once a Booking is confirmed, the Shipper and Carrier see each other's name, business name, phone number and the pickup and delivery addresses and contacts. Reviews you leave are shown with your name.

If we introduce analytics we will use a tool that does not sell or share data and will update this policy.
